LLLLLLLLLLET'S READ THIS BORING SHIT

CAN'T FUCKING WAIT
So this blog is about some cunt whining and she writes fanfiction.
I think we're headed into new territory here. Not too sure, but I think this might be a first.
Lakota Sacred Grounds on Auction Block unless they can raise $1M by August 25th

The sale is perfectly "legal," but is it morally, ethically, and spiritually correct?
You'd think if it were so sacred you'd look into buying it.
In a race against the clock, the Sioux Nation is fighting to save Pe' Sla, one of its most sacred religious sites. Pe' Sla, located in the Black Hills of South Dakota, is the epicenter of the creation story of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota nations.
Oh, you know--
just the place where the world was created according to our religion, but raising money to buy it?
Impossible.
Tribal elders and spiritual leaders conduct ceremonies essential to their culture and beliefs at times of the year when the stars are in special alignment. On Aug. 25, 2012, approximately 1,942.66 acres, sold in five tracts of land, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Once sold, it is highly likely that Pe' Sla will be opened up for development, with the State of South Dakota building a road directly through it, according to a press release I stumbled across on Facebook. If the Sioux ever needed a savvy PR and fundraising team, now is the time, and it may be too late.
Well now it's an important religious site and a highway. What's the fucking problem?
Before it was just a religious site. Now it's both a site and a highway. It's two things in one!
Holy shit, you could even set up a little tourist trap to raise some cash to head off the next time your sacred sites are on the auction block.
The fact that native sacred places were taken illegally by the United States government is secondary to the urgent need to do something to protect this privately owned yet cosmologically significant site before Aug. 25, less than two weeks from now. In a gallant effort the Sioux Nation is fundraising to buy as much of the holy ground of Pe' Sla as possible. What is possible and what is realistic may be two different things, or they may not.
Citation needed on the US seizing it illegally.
To be honest, when this writer discovered the story, the situation seemed overwhelming and hopeless. How would the Sioux be able to raise over one million dollars in a fundraising campaign in two weeks?
>this writer
All right, you're writing a blog. You're not working for some third rate newspaper. Cut the shit.
Also how will the Sioux Nation
A POPULATION OF AT LEAST 150,000 PEOPLE
raise a million bucks in two weeks?
Well I did some quick division and if each person in the Sioux nation donated seven dollars you'd have enough plus enough left over to have a picnic.
So I dutifully posted it on Facebook, tried to go to sleep, tossed and turned in protest at my inaction, and now find myself blogging away at 1 AM--hoping and praying that by throwing this sad, terrible story against the wall, something might stick.
Rest now, weary internet warrior, for I have devised the solution.
Seven bucks.
"In the time of the sacred sites and the crashing of ecosystems and worlds, it may be worth not making a commodity out of all that is revered," LaDuke writes, asking the critical question of morality.

She goes on to cite Lakota scholar Chase Iron Eyes, who said:

Pe'Sla, to the Lakota, is the place where Morning Star, manifested as a meteor, fell to earth to help the Lakota by killing a great bird which had taken the lives of seven women; Morning Star's descent having created the wide open uncharacteristic bald-spot in the middle of the forested Black Hills.
Seven women, huh?
It takes at least an entire massacre to rouse Zeus from his lofty throne.
Maybe your gods need better shit to do?
On May 24, 1996, President Bill Clinton issued Executive Order 13007 that requires the government to "accommodate access to and ceremonial use of Indian sacred sites by religious practitioners." Unfortunately, the order applies to federal and not privately held lands, leaving an ethical chasm between what should be and what is reality at sacred sites.
>privately held lands
YOU'D THINK
YOU'D HAVE SEEN TO THE OWNERSHIP OF THE PLACE WHERE THE WORLD WAS MADE.
And now, at this moment, there is absolutely nothing we can do about that harsh fact.
I'm actually kinda surprised South Dakota needs another road. I figured the literally tens of people there could use one of the other two roads.
It is the hour of dark skies here in northern Minnesota and the Pleiades are just now rising in the eastern sky, soon to be followed by Jupiter, Venus and the waning crescent moon. I find myself wondering what the skies are like just one state to the west in the Black Hills. Part of the writer wants to go there to better explain the sense of the sacred lands, but there is no time to waste when the hands of the clock have moved into another day since the time I sat down to write this testimony.
They built a tourist trap on Mount Olympus, just saying.
Zeus rewards industry anyway.
I FIND IT UNFORTUNATE THAT SUCH A BENIGHTED PEOPLE WOULD SEEK TO STYMIE PROGRESS.
So, feeling completely helpless and inadequate, we offer what little we can and hope that a solution can be found in the coming days to save the "heart of all that is."
Can't save something apparently so incredibly awesome that you've called it the heart of all that is by raising 1,000,000 bucks.
I couldn't pony up a million bucks but then again I'm not 150,000 people.
If you cloned me 150,000 times and my bank account 150,000 I could buy that shit tomorrow.
This place is apparently only badass because a god killed a giant bird that ate some women.
You know the Greeks dammed up rivers where Zeus did some serious shit because if they had to avoid sites such as that they'd still be living in caves.
If you can't donate the money, please spread the word.
You know if the Sioux Nation can't be moved to donate pocket change for THE HEART OF ALL THAT IS then I don't think I care that much either.
Hey, donate a dollar for each woman that giant bird ate.
I can do the PR.
Hell, I'll even donate my time.
Leave a comment, Sioux Nation, with your phone number and I'll give you a call about a badass PR campaign.
BUY THIS.

Seriously. You pay what you can and the money goes to protest efforts in North America and Europe.
I saw those protests.
I don't think anyone actually knew what they were protesting.
I'm not a rich man. I can't donate to all this shit.
I don't know how to ride a bike.

I would like to ride a bike. (I live in the city. Gas is expensive. It's good for my health. Lots of reasons.)

Caveat: I have a Parkinsonsism that severely effects my balance. I've tried learning to ride before and mostly hurt myself a lot. I never got off training wheels. (And I'm not biking through the city on training wheel because I have got some kind of pride.)
Well--
sounds like you're fucked, then.
Research so far says: tandem bikes (I have no one to tandem with) and trikes (and I don't have $300+ to drop on a bike I don't know I can use).
Oh can't have training wheels because you have pride but a tricycle
AKA a bike for babies
is perfectly fine.
No, cool.
I'm not asking for a solution so much as resources. A place where I can raise money for a trike? Someone who helps cripples ride bikes in the Philly area? Something?
A place where you can raise money for a trike?
How about a job?
Don't work at a grocery store, though. Then your back will hurt too much to give a fuck about a trike.
 Anyone know anything about netbooks?
Yes. They're little laptops. Next question.

I want a cheapee one to bring to Occupation and marches - just word processing and internet. Advice? Links? Anything?
Yeah I have a link for you.
www.google.com
Dumb cunt.
Anyway this blog goes on and fucking on about this shit so I'm going to bed.
GOOGLE IT.

I'm lazy

Fuck it let's just browse ONTD_Political and its comments.
People whining that some white guy got offended that a black man was bagging his groceries then got banned from the store--
he's claiming religious persecution, inexplicably--
A 22-year-old man who reported he was the victim of an alleged hate crime in Missoula during the early morning hours of August 5 has admitted he made the story up. “It has now been determined that the assault did not occur,” Missoula Police Lieutenant Scott Brodie said in an August 7 statement.
I bet the comments will somehow be whining about bigoted police.
We will never hear the end of this. Any attack that isn't caught on camera will be suspected to be another 'Joseph Baken' case.
Considering this is the first I'm hearing of Joseph Baken I kinda suspect this is the last we'll be hearing of this.
Here's someone claiming they'll fix this when they become "god-king" and I sincerely doubt you'll become god-emperor of man but even if you do I doubt you'd be able to fix this shit because you're be too busy whining--
Roma in France’s northern city of Lille were expelled from their camps over the weekend as police dismantled the settlements, despite promises by President Francois Hollande to end the practice.

The police raids started early Thursday (9 August) morning with 240 others, previously evicted from camps in Lyon, "voluntarily" leaving on flights to Romania on the same day. Each adult returned to Romania received €300 and each child €100.
Francois Hollande has some balls.
France's interior minister Manuel Valls claims the camps are unsanitary and pose a public health risk. The minister said each individual’s case was evaluated by French authorities before being returned to Romania, reported Reuters.

Rights organisations say France must abide by its commitments under international human rights laws to provide alternative accommodation and that it must respect the European Union rules on freedom of movement.
Come and fucking make me.
If they want to live here they'll do so legally, they will find a suitable place to live and they'll follow French laws.
Welcome to France, asshole. Check your weapons.
Veronika Szente Goldston, Europe and Central Asia advocacy director at Human Rights Watch (HRW), said the raids had left 60 children without any homes and that France’s latest evictions are contrary to Hollande’s pledge in April to abolish discriminatory measures against Roma populations.

“Hollande’s promises to end discrimination against Roma couldn’t ring more hollow in the wake of this week’s events,” Szente Goldston said in a statement.
Oh wow a lying politician, imagine that.
Wait, wait--
I suddenly remember a quote from someone smart about politics.
How'd that go?
“Politics have no relation to morals.”
-Machiavelli
Q High, a LGBTQ-friendly high school, will open on Tuesday for their first full year of classes. One n Ten, a LGBTQ youth program in Phoenix, will sponsor the online high school.
>Online
can't wait for everyone in the comments to miss that little detail.
Johnny Hernandez cut class to the point that her former school told her not to come back. While meeting with another high school, the 16-year-old was told she had to change her clothing in order to register.

Her clothes met the dress code requirement — the school’s issue was that Hernandez is a male and wears women’s clothing.

“In my head I feel like I’m a girl,” Hernandez said. “I’m just not in the right body.”
In my head I'm a chaplain of the Imperial Fists
but in reality I'm this scrawny white guy--
WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK WHY ARE YOU TAKING MY POWER ARMOR AND GUN AWAY FROM ME DISCRIMINATION
At the same meeting, Hernandez heard about Q High, a high school that opened this year near Third Street in midtown Phoenix. The new high school is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning students along with straight allied youth.
... How can an online high school have a physical location?
Am I confused?
Q High is a part of One n Ten, a nonprofit organization that focuses on assisting LGBTQ youth ages 14-24. With three satellite locations in the Valley and a youth center in Phoenix, One n Ten holds weekly discussion groups and offers programs to help youths with “self‐expression, self‐acceptance, leadership development and healthy life choices,” according to the official website.
Well with this much nonsense rolling around in Arizona my job application to 3 schools in Arizona should go right through I feel.
At five years old, Hernandez said she began having crushes on boys. Growing up, she said people physically fought her because they didn’t like that she was gay. Three years ago, she came out to her family as transgender. The majority of her family doesn’t like who she is, she said. Hernandez also feels she is “double-profiled” because of her Mexican background.
You know when I said I wanted to be a genetically enhanced super soldier in the grimdarkness of the far future fighting aliens and heretics I was told to grow the fuck up.
This guy gets his own high school.
“If people don’t like Mexicans, they aren’t going to like me, and if they don’t like gays, they aren’t going to like me,” Hernandez said. “I don’t care what the world thinks of me. I am who I am and I’m not going to change for anybody.”

Hernandez’s cousin, Monica Chavez, said several times that they have been out walking and overheard people nearby discuss her Hernandez’s transgender appearance.
THE ONLY THING I HEAR PEOPLE DISCUSSING IS HOW BEST TO CEASE AND REPENT BEFORE THE RADIANCE OF THE EMPEROR THAT I IMBUE
Four years ago, Chavez was diagnosed with limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, meaning her leg muscles deteriorate as she grows older. She began using a wheelchair and wanted to attend a school with a smaller population.

“Ever since I’ve been in my wheelchair, I’ve been scared of what people think or if they’ll stare, and it bothers me if they stare,” Chavez said. “I just get nervous. I’m looking forward to (starting Q High) but at the same time I’m not.”
Dang.
You get all the labels to affix to your body.
I bet the people who comment here are getting label envy.
“My main goal is to make them feel like a teenager, like a youth,” Smith said. “It’s just one part of your identity; it’s not who you are, it’s not what defines you.”

Q High is a public charter school through the Arizona Virtual Academy and funded by the Arizona Department of Education. All classes are online and academic requirements are determined by the department.
I bet everyone misses this, too.
Is this even a thing? Can you take high school online?
How can you make them feel well adjusted, "like a youth" and "it's just one part of your identity" when you've basically acknowledged that they're such special snowflakes that not only can they not attend normal high schools they can't attend high school in a physical location and can only be interacted with through the bubble that is the internet?
Attendance will be taken in order to enforce that the 17 students attend class Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to meet the weekly minimum requirement of 25 hours online.
P. sure high school is Monday-Friday, boss.
I dunno, though. I only graduated with honors and have a teaching certificate. I don't have my school administration degree.
I should have gotten that garbage instead. I'm an idiot.
“My whole vision is to create an environment where they feel like they are in their own school community and not just coming to sit in front of a computer for seven hours on end,” Smith said.
>not just
I've learned some of my most important things from sitting in front of the computer for 7 hours a day.
What beautiful idea, cut out the bigots and let these kids get on with their lives and education. If the public schools/government won't step up and protect their students, take them out of the game, and reap the benefits of well-adjusted, intelligent human beings who feel safe.
Says one comment.
Isn't part of growing up confronting adversity?
Isn't this kinda like admitting they can't?
Also the state of Arizona, I just checked, is paying this guy a principal's salary.
A principal makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 80 Gs a year.
This school is online only and educates a whopping 17 children.
Soooo let's calculate this out--
assuming there is a faculty of ONNNNE person at this high school (there isn't, there are at least 6 teachers) the average cost to teach one student for one year is 4705.
I'm not too familiar with the statistics of Arizona (because who the fuck is) but the average student in NC costs about 1000 a year for the state to educate.
A student in a physical location.
In an actual building.
With actual books.
4705 dollars.
I know it costs more.
Can you imagine? I can barely imagine what that would be like. The safety and increased self-acceptance. I get dizzy thinking of it.

So happy for the kids who have this!
Of course they're safe. They're learning online.
Unless it's Blackboard. Then your entire future is in jeopardy if Blackboard suddenly decides it's not gonna post what you told it to.
There was a time I had to post a 60 MB file on Blackboard.
It took 27 hours.
No joke I could have walked it to the professor's house and presented it live and been back home faster than that file took to upload.
I can't believe this happening in Arizona, of all places.

I wonder if this school accepts asexual students.
Considering it's ONLINE I'm guessing yes.
They accept both straight and gay students so yeah.
THERE YOU GO.
ONTD_POLITICAL HAS SPOKEN.
I find this a confusing comment. Fynoda wasn't asking whether they accept bisexuals, but asexuals. It's be nice to think that their open, inclusive philosophy would mean they did but in my bitter experience, this is rarely actually the case. it's fair enough to query it, and the answer isn't obvious. Being the minority even within the minority is petty tough if they aren't accepting of atypical difference.
...
Shut up.
With the exception of aromantics, asexuals fall under the straight or gay label (or bi/pan), so why wouldn't they be included alongside other gay or straight students?
... Aromantics?
Oh, shit.
An aromantic is a person who experiences little or no romantic attraction to others. Where romantic people have an emotional need to be with another person in a romantic relationship, aromantics are often satisfied with friendships and other non-romantic relationships. What distinguishes romantic relationships from a non-romantic relationships can vary diversely, but often includes physical connection (holding hands, cuddling, etc.) and monogamous partnership.
I found this on the internet.
Anyway shut up.
I was ready to call myself aromantic because I often find myself playing the juegos on a Saturday night but apparently that's not what they meant.
I mean, you can be straight or gay while also being asexual. Hetero-romantics and homo-romantics and aromantics.
OF COURSE YOU FUCKING CAN.
WHY CAN'T YOU?
HOW MANY LABELS CAN WE INVENT?
Let me see
I AM
A DUAL-SPIRITED SEX POSITIVE HOMO-ROMANTIC AROMANTIC ASEXUAL PANSEXUAL FURRY WASHTUB BASIN TRIPLE ENTENTE FEMINIST FEMME FATALE GIRL GAMER DON'T HIT ON ME SILLY BOYS
fuck
off
But regarding whether they accept asexuals, it seems obvious that they do. While the article calls the high school an LGBTQ high school, it seems obvious that they accept everyone--except bigots. Basically, it's a safe space for LGBTQ people that's also a high school. They accept everyone as long as you aren't going to discriminate against your classmates, it seems.
And you don't mind grappling with Blackboard for 7 hours a day 4 days a week.
This is so, so needed here in Arizona. While I was lucky that the response to my coming out was congratulatory and accepting, that is most definitely not the case for many LGBTQIA
Oh, the acronym changed on me again.
Let's see.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual--
Queer--
I.
Oh don't tell me I know this one--
INTERSEX.
Haha yes I'm awesome.
A.
Oh boy.
Asexual I'm guessing.
Ever read the Chaos Daemons codex in Warhammer?
How the language of Chaos has verb conjugations but also the root word corrupts and that's the true power of the runes of Chaos?
I feel like that's this acronym. It warps and mutates and feels like it isn't physically bound to the dimensions of the page upon which it's written.
I would've loved to have gone there!

The only thing that worries me is that when these kids apply for jobs...wont some bigots discriminate once they see the school name? I hope it's not the case but you know...people.
I'm guessing when this guy shows up in a dress and full beard his odds for a job are pretty much gone.
I mean Christ. I'm a highly qualified (it literally says the words "highly qualified" on my teaching certificate) teacher and I can't even get a job.
I even shave once in a while and own a tie.
Do you honestly think this guy stands a fucking chance?
I'm not saying it's right I'm just saying that's how it be.
IT BE LIKE IT BE.
Yeah they would definitely lose the choice about whether or not to out themselves on job applications, etc. after attending.
Or fuck it let's simplify this:
you went to high school online?
Do you know how to conjugate a fucking verb?
the school’s issue was that Hernandez is a male and wears women’s clothing

no

do not pass go

do not collect anything whatsoever

the school sounds great and everything but I'm really side-eying the article for this bit
SOMETIMES A GUY JUST FEELS PRETTY INNIT
God fuck this blog.
I mean holy shit.
All right let's move to a new article.
US Embassy Reykjavik Iceland
We decorated the embassy this morning and are now ready for tomorrows Gay Pride Festival. Hope to see you all in the parade.

GAY RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS
My interest in Iceland has increased from 0% to maybe 10 whole % because EVE Online is made by an Icelandic company and honestly considering what I've read about the country I'm amazed they're aware there are gay people.
The entire country is smaller than the city I live in.
Their contribution to world cuisine is a boiled goat head.
You can just crack the skull open to get to those delicious brains.
AND THE EYEBALLS MMMMM MMMMM--
AND THAT TONGUE?
HOLY
SHIT
THE CHEEK MEAT IS SO TENDER
the fuck is wrong with you people?
Thanks for the cool game though.
Iceland is at the forefront of the global gay rights canpaign. Same-sex partnerships were legalized in 1996, giving them equal legal status with heterosexual marriage. In 2000 step-adoption rights for same-sex couples were legalized, and in 2006 same-sex adoption was legalized, regardless of marital status. In 2008 the parliament passed an amendment to the 1996 law, making it possible for same-sex couples to register their partnership in church or any other religious congregation.
They should pass a law that makes their landscape less bleak. No wonder the entire music score in EVE Online makes it seem like the world is about to fucking end. I think it literally is about to end in Iceland.
I wonder what the temperature is in sunny Reykjavik at this very moment?
Summer, early morning in the Northern Hemisphere?
54 degrees farenheit.
MMMM MMM MMM.
Rain today,
cloudy tomorrow,
cloudy the next day--
rain the next day--
partly cloudy the next day--
This is fucking awesome.
Most recently the queer movement in Iceland has been focusing on the rights of transsexual people, e.g. the right to change information on gender and name in the National Register. Furthermore, it emphasizes its duty to support queer communities around the world, that do not share legal and social privileges comparable to those of Iceland, by sending letters of protest to mayors, presidents, prime ministers and other authorities repressing queer rights, and doing so in hope to support our brothers and sisters around the world.
How about you protest the weather because based on your weekly forecast for this week it seems to have gone to war with you.
The parade is very popular in Iceland. One year the police estimated that upwards of 100.000 people attended,
That's a third of the country's entire population but considering your options are that or another day playing EVE Online, the country's only pass time, might as fucking well.
They were probably so awed by a color other than gray they could scarcely believe it.
SVEN
STOP YOUR SLASHER AND LOOK AT THIS:
GREEN!
No wonder that game has a dominant color scheme of black and gray.
which is close to a third of the country's population, and half of the capital area population.
Cooooooooooooooooooool.
I can't imagine an event in the US that would mobilize a third of its entire population.
No wait I have one:
combo free McDonald's and gun show.
Or wait no I have one:
world's largest job fair.
Get it because of the unemployment rate?
Should have stopped at the first one.
This is why I'm forever stuck telling jokes on the internet.
Anyway time to goooooooooo

Oh Shit I'm Sorry

Oh boy. ONTD_Political was up in arms about health care reforms (of course) and something--
I dunno.
Apparently that whole "you can be on your parents' insurance until you're 26" thing doesn't extend to you getting knocked up.
To be honest I don't see the problem here. If you're starting a family of your own I think it's time to get off daddy's healthcare, you know?
Not to mention kids need a lot of healthcare. They vomit and shit all over the fucking place and no one can figure out why but it's probably not very kosher.
Anyway here we are.
I picked this one because we have another typical ONTD_Political Feminist who has this to say:
Bah. So sick of people being screwed over on health care, particularly women and kids.
But I thought men and women were equal?
Should it be "especially kids" if men and women are exactly the same?
Why particularly women if we're all equal?
Unless you're okay with being equal until it might behoove you to be advantaged--
you can't have chivalry and equality, you know.
I have watched, in the last couple of weeks, several different times (ESPN has been showing this, for some reason, nearly every day), a movie called 'Dogtown and Z-Boys'. It's a documentary about the Zephyr Skate team, a group of boys and one girl who were surfers-turned-skateboarders in 'Dog Town', California.
Oh God I hated it when the Action channel used to show that crap.
I TURN THIS CHANNEL ON TO SEE ROBOCOP OR SOME CHINESE DUDE PUNCHING OTHER CHINESE DUDES
NOT TO SEE SOME FAGGOT SKATER ASSHOLES.
They had another movie they showed all the goddamn time about snowboarding that was even more insufferable.
Hello! Just thought i'd pop in, wave a bit.
*waves*

There is currently *so much* going on in fandom! I have so many tabs open and bookmarks and am subscribing to people left and right on AO3. Too much fic, not enough time!!
Too much fanfiction.
I know what you mean, girlfriend.
So, yes - saw Avengers. Loved it so, so much. Saw it again today, and i was the only person in the theatre. YAY. The first time was the midnight show, which was fun, but the audience was noisy and i missed stuff. This time - wheeee!
>seeing The Avengers
>twice
WOOOOW
Here's a post about Planned Parenthood going bankrupt or something (I see this post in every blog I review but I've never bothered to comment on it or mention it until now) but this one is different. Apparently they attempt to raise money through fanfiction.
Like if you want one of these cunts to write a fanfiction about how Goku really wants to fuck Vegeta you can pay her 10 bucks and she will.
Then the cash gets donated to Planned Parenthood.
I can't imagine this isn't against some sort of copyright law but whatever.
Ah, Yule-time! Pretty much my favorite time of year. The scent of cedar in the house from the tree, cinnamon-y and bayberry candles, cold nights and frosty mornings and, if we're very good...snow!

I seem, however, to have had my internal thermometer reset. I *cannot* stay warm, no matter what i do. Thank heavens for space heaters and electric blankets!
This is really dull but I can't believe how cunty it is too.
Did you try at this?
Like when other authors tried to be good at writing you said NO
INSTEAD
I WILL BE A HUGE CUNT
It's that day of the year again, and again, I'm telling my dad's story.

Born in 1925, to a family of thirteen,
How fucking old are you?
*waves*

Hallo! I am sitting here, windows open, ac *off*, enjoying the hell out of our suddenly mild and lovely temperatures. Forties at night!! Seventies in the day!! So very wonderful. Cannot *wait* for true autumn to arrive.
There is something really annoying about the way you write. I've never felt like someone had an annoying voice through writing before.
*waves*
Hallo, people.
We suddenly moved into nearly-summer weather. Mid-eighties and *humid*. Oh dear gods, i hate it. Hate. It. I want my chilly spring weather back, now, please.
*puts cold washcloth around neck*
See what I mean?
Don't you just want to punch her through the internet?
Today! I'm leaving for Writercon!!
*flails*

Yes, it's going to *rock* but also....
*flails*
 WRITERCON
I don't even want to know what that is.
We'll arrive at the 'con early Friday afternoon, and i kinda doubt i'll be able to get online while i'm there, so.....everyone have a lovely weekend! My flist will be skip=a billionty when i get back.

*flails more*
*runs in little circles*

Things to do! Things to do!!!

:)
*VERBS*
Yes, i am now 42. Wheeeee! :)
AKA way too fucking old to be acting like this.
So! Ask me anything, about any fic i've written. Um. This is not a request post. Heh. Just - ask me why, or how, or whom, or...whatever. I suppose you could ask about my 'writing', too, though i'm likely to be a bit...weird and vague about that. I'm never very coherent when it comes to the process. But i'll do my best!
Do you try to be as irritating as you are or does that come naturally?
I'm guessing it's a bit of both.
Like Sergeant Telion's sniper ability in Warhammer.
Let me make this obtuse simile even more obtuse:
because they said that was the marriage of natural talent with the genetic enhancements of a space marine--
so he's really good at shooting, see.
Like this woman--
she was this annoying naturally but then her natural talent was augmented by the internet and practice.
Like Telion's--
I'll stop.
Or perhaps it's a rant. I dunno. Anyway. Reading some nice, long big bang fics. And it's wonderful to get good, meaty stories. Wonderful! But...

Is it just me? And it's possible, but...is it just me who gets really, really tired of the 'find one true love, date/hang out with/have sex with one true love, have some massive fight/misunderstanding/freakout, lose one true love, pine for days/months/years over lost love, reconnect and live happily ever after' story line? I mean... Yes, okay. Stories need, apparently, some kind of 'angst' or 'drama' or.....whatever.
No they don't.
They literally don't need any angst.
Hell, even drama is optional.
If you'd read more than fanfiction you might know this.
If i was madly in love, and suddenly my best friend said 'oh, by the way, your soul mate was mackin' on so and so at this party'... My first impulse would *not* be to move out and not talk to them for six months. My *first* impulse would be to confront them, find out the whole story, and *then* decide on what to do.

Am i too boringly practical for fiction? Am i just a spoilsport? I dunno.
The whole premise is so junior high stupid who cares anyway?
Yes yes!
I like anthologies. I like collections of stories on one subject, or by one author, or with one defining theme. I'm funny that way.
Yes, hilarious.
Hilarious like how much my fucking back hurts.
Anyway I can't stand this bullshit anymore
I think my spine is about to erupt
I'm going to mine ore in space
goodbye
